Airport West Animal Clinic & Kennel Club

UPDATE!!!!!!!! I needed to get my dog back in for quite intense allergies. The entire staff from receptionist to the vet assistant to the doctor were flawless. The doctor sat down and really walked us through everything. He even joined my dog on the floor to examine him. each staff member took the time to make sure I understood everything. I do not believe I could have been any happier. Thank you, Airport West Animal Clinic… I will be back. The doctors recommendation and medication worked perfectly for my dog. However, I do not like that isn’t an exam table in the room and that they have to take my dog to the back. They tried but returned very soon after because he was very anxious. I told them I have extensive experience with dogs and understand my dogs behavior very well. The Dr told me he wanted to muzzle my dog and I said absolutely not he has NEVER needed to be muzzled . The doctor said if I feel like I am in danger we’re gonna have to put a muzzle on him. And I absolutely respected that and said if you feel threatened, you can put a muzzle on my dog. Of course he was able to examine my dog completely without any issues and he said well that went well. I understand that not all people can handle their dogs or have extensive knowledge or experience. But I think it’s important that they need to listen to the owners, especially when they are presenting themselves as a professional. The doctor was very abrupt and did not have good bedside manners. However, his recommendation did work very well for my dog so I am thankful for that. I do not feel that I will return because I do not like that there’s not an exam table in the room and that they separate dog from owner. I understand why. I understand that dogs do not necessarily react well with their owners in the room. But the doctor should’ve taken the time to get to know and understand my dog. The front desk staff was a little more friendly than the doctor.

I’m new to Ellensburg, I’ve only been here a month and one of my cats got sick over night. Called the triage line, paid $50 to be told my boy was probably blocked and needed to see a vet asap, they reached out to a local vet that was on call, that place never responded to their called. So we had to wait until the next morning with a potential block. I called a few places here in town and got nowhere after explaining my situation. I was told the rodeo is in town and most places were closed or has nothing to offer. So I called Airport West Animal Clinic and I got my boy a same day appointment. The vet was wonderful, very thorough and explained to me why my boy was sick and fixed him up. The staff was wonderful. I know it’s a trip to drive to Yakima but this place is worth it, I will be back with all of my boys. Thank you 😊

My Toby has been going here for 2 years now. He had a poisoning accident and Dr. Newhouse was amazing as well as the man with the glasses!! [Sorry I dont know his name] , but they were very patient and gentle with Toby, and they got him better by the next day.He was being his happy playful self.I recommend this bet veterinarian place to anybody that wants to experience great customer service and excellent pet care.
